Okay for Jacob’s charcter, I wanted him to be like how I “used” to be. Not a 100% “self insert” but I’m just a good example of some flawed charcter traits I wanted him to have that I just thought were fitting for the guy.
So I’ll just put basic things about them and their apperace too before I get deeper into everything about them like searching about their culture, home life, and hobby.

So here I'll just be going over my plans for the backstories, not alot about the flow of the story, that's not for this section:
Growing up around alot of girls plus his dad shaped him alot growing up. His earliest memories was trying to fight his much older sister's after they put him in one of their old princes dress.
Although it wasn't all negative. He's seen his sisters and parents work late into the nights with things they're passionate about, [aura] flowing out of them as they created things.
That is where Jacob finds his spark. Inspired by them but..seeing all the praise his sisters get especially, he wanted that too, even subconsciously. Thus, the first bud of Envy was born as well not too long after.
But time marches on and he goes into elementary school eventually, in which he meets Quinn!! Despite her coldish nature, they become best friends after they find out they both have the “Zaye Cube” with many games in common/games the other had and wanted to try. Their many hangouts caused their parents to become friends, which just let them hang out more. However there was one game that Quinn let Jacob burrow, “Harmony Havoc”(on the nose, i know), which led Jacob getting kind of picked on because of this, which gradually increased over the week, Quinn eventually found out and pummeled the bullies, becoming protective ever since because it was technically her fault in her head. Jacob constantly insists otherwise however.
Now to touch on his middle school days before I get into his actual physical character designs.
In his 6th grade year, him and Quinn got separated because both their parents kind of miscommunicated on which school they’d have their child in, thus causing the separation. But they still talk and hang out in person regularly, their neighborhoods are close by. But the most notable event in his 6th grade year would be his first outbreak of “Burn-Out”. It’s kind of like stress induced hives in this universe. I’ll probably write a section on it in the main page, but to give the bare bones of it, if your emotions are in overdrive as you do what that triggers your [hobby], it'll make your body show a sort of black stain or cracking on your body that makes you feel worn out and miserable the more you work. At its early stages, sub 40%, it’s treatable with just some good rest and distressing. But anywhere above that, you’ll need medical care. A “cure” is found, a treatment/procedure that I might flesh out for world building, also right now it’s an unknown a cure for 100% victims. There are rumors that the government purposely overworks people to study the special effects of burnout. Anywho-
Jacob goes through this after taking in multiple projects back to back to try to complete with his peers. It does his best to hide everything welling up in him but it’s hard to hide from his best friend. It’s obvious when he avoids hanging out and covering places he normally wouldn’t. Like his face, his Burn-Out starts along the bridge of his nose ,then spreading up his head and down his neck to run along his spine, it infects everything from there. But for now he was just at 20% which is still concerning. From the starting point of his infection you could call it, he’d probably be getting severe migraines. Quinn sniffed this out and immediately forced him to go to the doctor despite his prescience on completing projects because his fear of falling behind. Quinn gives him a stern encouragement speech and makes sure he’s not doing anything to trigger the growth of his burnout for the next week until he’s ready.
Now for 7th grade, he meets Marcello and they become quick friends because they were placed in the same group. They quickly bonded over various manga and comics. Often “debating” about them.
The 3 meet Nadia in 9th grade too and they’ve all been together ever since.
